A trip to the roof of the world; over high passes through ancient kingdoms to the Karakoram.This adventure truly has everything. From the Sutlej Valley, we follow the old Hindustan Tibet highway through the old Buddhist kingdoms of Kinnaur, Lahul and Spiti; then on to Leh, capital of Ladakh and a piece of old Tibet. And finally we bike the old trade route into china, the highest road in the world, the 5600m Kardung la to the Oases of the Nubra valley in the shadow of the Karakoram.

Highlights on this Tour
The highest roads in the world; and remote, hauntingly lovely people, superb view.
Season
The area to the north of the Rohtang Pass is sheltered from the effect of the monsoon, and is very dry. The most northerly part of our route is best described as a high altitude desert, which receives very little annual precipitation. Our departures are scheduled to coincide with the only period of the year when the road is virtually guaranteed to be open. During the remainder of the year, heavy snowfall closes all the passes.
