The Everest or Solu Khumbu region is the second most popular trekking area of Nepal. It would probably be the most popular destination, but it is more expensive and difficult to get to this region than to Annapurna area. To get near Everest, you most either fly to Lukla or walk for a week from Jiri. Solu khumbu is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain, but also for its Sherpa villages and Monasteries. The normal goal of Everest trek is Everest Base camp but as people is not able to see Everest from Base camp, so most trekkers climb to Kalapathar or trek to Gokyo Ri. There is dramatic view of Everest from these view point.
This area also offer high crossing passes, view of World's highest peak, Superb mountain view,beautiful lake like Gokyo, picturesque Sherpa village like Namche, Thame, Tenboche, Khumjung and of course friendly notorious sherpa climber.
Everest trek become more popular because there are number of trekking peaks and high Himalayas to climb and can easily be combine with trekking in this region.
