Trip Overview
Annapurna Circuit trek features diverse landscapes, from lush forests to high-altitude deserts, with highlights including Muktinath and the world’s deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki Valley.
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the world’s best treks, offering more variety than any other equivalent trek in the world in terms of length. The entire circuit spans 131 kilometers (81 miles) and encompasses four of the world’s 10 highest summits. The route takes us from the sub-tropical zone to the very edge of the arid Tibetan plateau, passing through snow-capped peaks, picturesque farming villages, numerous waterfalls, mist-shrouded valleys, isolated communities, and remote monasteries, combining the Marsyangdi Valley and the sacred Kali Gandaki Valley.
After exploring the picturesque Manang Village, visiting monasteries, and enjoying the tranquility of Mother Nature during an acclimatization day, we trek towards the Thorong La Pass. The climax of the Annapurna Circuit Trek is crossing the formidable Thorong La Pass (5,416m). It is at the very edge of the Tibetan plateau and affords unsurpassed panoramic views of the Annapurna peaks. We visit the Muktinath Temple, a holy shrine for both Hindus and Buddhists. Pilgrims from distant villages in Nepal and India visit here every year. There are 108 water spouts from springs, and a natural gas flame burns on top of water in one of the temples. Hindus believe that Muktinath is the only place on earth where the five elements (earth, wind, fire, water, and sky) exist in their distinct forms. Hundreds of worshipers bathe in the fountains, ring bells, anoint each other’s foreheads, or simply look on reverently. We can also follow their belief if you want to try.
We will then trek towards the remote Lupra village and pass the Dhaulagiri Ice Flow Fall and the world’s deepest gorge. The Kali Gandaki River has created the deepest gorge between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks. After spending the night at Tatopani and dipping in hot springs, we trek uphill through picturesque villages to Ghorepani to spend a night watching the magnificent sunrise from Poon Hill. We will spend the final night at Ghandruk, the most picturesque Gurung village located on the lap of the Annapurna range, before descending back to Pokhara.
Why Annapurna Circuit trek still good to take?
Despite the presence of dirt roads and crowds, the Annapurna Circuit trek remains a fantastic trek due to its unparalleled scenic beauty and diverse landscapes. Trekkers experience a range of environments, from lush subtropical forests to high alpine deserts. The trek offers breathtaking views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Additionally, the route is rich in cultural diversity, allowing trekkers to immerse themselves in the unique traditions and lifestyles of various ethnic communities. The blend of natural beauty and cultural richness makes the Annapurna Circuit a truly rewarding adventure.

Trip Reviews
Great place to pick for your trek. They keep you well informed about every aspect as well as the guides and their professionalism regarding trekker safety, especially during the higher elevations. They don’t harass you on the street like most trekking companies in Kathmandu, which is much appreciated.
We came across trekking team group via a friend who had trekked with them the year before on the Annapurna Circuit. Taking her recommendation was great as it meant that we got to work with Shreehari in planning our trek and then with the amazing Hari who guided us to Annapurna Base Camp (and back). In planning the trek, Shreehari was incredibly helpful and accommodating working around our schedules to plan a private trek (a couple) with a guide and a porter. Shree even met us at the airport and joined us for dinner on our first evening when we arrived in Kathmandu which we hadn’t expected and was a lovely touch. The first few days sightseeing in Kathmandu were well planned which helped us to get an insight into the culture and history before heading into the mountains. We met Hari (our guide) and his brother Ishwor (our porter) and drove to Pokhara and the day after we headed into the mountains. The trek was incredibly well planned by Hari. Knowing that he’d picked good accommodation (the quality of the beds was always the same but the number of private rooms and the quality of the cooking in each lodge varied massively) and locations for lunch stops that were appropriately spaced along the trek meant we knew we’d always be well rested for the next section of our journey. He was incredibly attentive and helpful when we had issues such as one day when I twisted my ankle which required a slow down in the pace. We joked that along the ABC route you were never more than 45 minutes away from your next cup of tea which Hari and Ishwor made sure we were full of along the way. We met a lot of people doing ABC unguided who were suffering with altitude sickness after having pushed too high up in one day or who were having trouble finding lodging for the night on the busy route. This was never a problem for us as Hari was making sure everything was booked in advance and would make us stop even if we thought we could keep going. I would strongly recommend using Trekking Team Group to plan and guide your trek. The only effort we had to put in was in making sure we were fit enough to make the journey! We’ll return to the Himalayas and we’ll definitely work with Trekking Team Group again.
Great local agency with good No Plastic Bottle policy
We did a modified 14-day Annapurna circuit in April 2019. The modified itenerary had been proposed by the agency and it was a great alternative to the usual one with condensed great walks and views. Our guide and porter were really nice and always making sure we were ok. They always tried to find us a room with attached toilet, which was nice. One of the reason we went with this company was the no plastic bottle policy. They did sterilized our water (steripen or boiling) every time we asked and we did not have any stomach issue, so we were really happy with that. One of our other concerns about trekking was how the porter and guide are treated : both our guide and porter seemed to be treated ok. The guide had good gears. The porter gears were ok: not the best ones but far from the worst ones we saw. The guide was knowledgeable when asked questions. Most of the trek went smoothly. Our guide was planning things ahead (and thus spending quite a lot of time on his phone). Once we had to wait quite a while for our transportation to pick us up, but it happened only once in the 14 days and I guess it is normal in Nepal on busy days. The communication with Shreehari before and after the trek was great. I sent him my comments when I came back from holidays and he was happy to take notes of my recommendations. Overall we are really happy with our experience. I would most definitely recommend the modified Annapurna circuit.
I recently completed a 2 week trek to the Annapurna region accompanied by my wife and another couple whom we are best friends with. When we decide to do the trip my wife had a recommendation to go with this company and even though i don’t know you im giving you that same tip, no need to thank me.Shreehari is the tour operator and i found him an especially good person to not only personally but professionally as well. Once we were on the trip our guide Goku was what i was looking for, a great sense of humor and an experienced professional. I have thanked them personally but i would like to make it public my gratitude for our porters Tika and Kamal whom not only did a great job but who were a pleasure to be around.I wouldn’t say that its a must to use a trekking company but if you do ill say it again im recommending this one.
we have just completed a 14 day trek of the Annapurna Circuit with the Trekking Team Group. We all had an amazing trip, the company was very professional and reliable, they provided great porters and guide who made the trip unforgettable. The company also arranged really comfortable accommodation along the way and the tour guide and the porters took us to the best local restaurants during the journey. We learned a lot along the 14 days and saw some amazingand incredible places. We had the chance to connect with our new Nepalese friends and we learnt heaps about these amazing people and their culture. These amazing, friendly and beautiful people are always welcoming you with the biggest smile on their faces and they are always ready to provide you the best service, making you feel part of their family. Massive thanks to the trekking team group, specially to our guide Goku, our super strong and loving porters Tika and Kamal – they made our holiday unforgettable. We definitely recommend their service and we can not wait to start planning a new trip around Nepal with the trekking team group in the near future. Regarding second thoughts about coming to Nepal, dont even think twice. Nepal is magic and its amazing and loving people are ready to receive you.
Right from the beginning to the end we have been treated like family by this company. Everyone we have dealt with has greeted us with a smile, and provided us with a genuine and ‘above expectation’ service. We were originally unsure whether we needed a guide and porters, but I’m so happy we decided to do this as it made the experience that much more enjoyable. We gained local knowledge we would have not read about or heard ourselves, went off the main paths at times, and thoroughly enjoyed our time with guide Goku and porters Tika and Kamal. It’s such a great time to visit Nepal as there are far less tourists since the earthquake, however it still has all the infrustructure and services for tourism. I also urge you to use a guide/porter service to provide support to the people and contribute to the economy, not to mention all the knowledge and fun that comes with it. We will return to Nepal and will contact trekking team group again, first of all to say hello to our new friends, as well as use their services. Thanks again for everything!
