Annapurna Base camp trek is one of the best classic trek of the world's to witness the sheer beauty of the diverse Himalayan landscape as you hike through remote villages, fairy-tale forests, vast moorlands cut by cascading rivers and the blue-hued peaks of base camp as they glow under starlight!

Wake up early at Ghorepani to climb Poonhill to get spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna range. Watch the mountain peaks turn to shimmering gold. Of 14 mountain peaks higher than 8000 metres in the world eight are in Nepal. Two among them can be seen from this spot if the sky is clear. Enjoy such memorable moment. Annapurna  Base Camp trek also offers an opportunity to explore the picturesque Gurung village, who are known as best army of the world.

On this trek, you will be accompanied by an experienced Sherpa trek leader along with assistant guides and porters, who will not only give you all the support and guidance you need along the way, but also introduce you to the rich local Gurung culture of this area. After the end of Annapurna Sanctuary trek, you can relax and unwind in Pokhara to cruise along Phewa Lake and gaze up at snow-capped mountains or opt for a relaxing massage to rejuvenate those tired legs.

You should be proud of traveling with a company who are Travelife Certified for their sustainability operation from office to the mountain with the core principle “take only photographs and leave only footprint."

Is Annapurna Base Camp Trek right for you?

  • There are 11 days of moderate to strenuous trekking on this Annapurna Base Camp trek, going over 4000m for one day. The longest trekking day can be up to 8 hours. You may encounter altitude sickness if you haven’t been to high altitude treks or your body is not adjusting well with altitude, however we have made an itinerary such a way that you will be spending many nights before getting to 4000m.
  • We highly recommend you to be fit before embarking to a trekking holiday in Nepal especially in high altitude trek. It makes a lot of sense to spend some time before coming on a trekking holiday getting some additional exercise. The fitter you are, after all, the more enjoyable you will find the experience. We suggest that you adopt a weekly exercise regime leading up to your trip. Regular hiking in hill country is the best training but jogging, squash and swimming are also good for developing cardio vascular fitness and stamina. Note that you will encounter a lot of steps on the trail while ascending and you might wish to tailor your exercise to take this into account
  • The trekking lodges, known as teahouses, that you stay in on the trek are very simple with only basic facilities. You have to sleep in multi bedded room with other trekkers specially 2 nights at high altitude where there are not enough accommodation.
  • Hot water may not always be available and may cost extra, as will access to electricity points for charging devices. Wifi is available at some locations, but connections may be poor and chargeable.

After researching several trekking tour companies we opted for Trekking Team Group and we were very happy with the service we received. The initial email correspondence was terrific; quick responses and informative advice. From airport to hotel to mountain to airport, we received guidance throughout our entire sixteen days in Nepal. We began with an excellent day trip around Kathmandu in a comfortable van and a fantastic guide named Goku. We felt very reassured after having a pre-trek meeting with Shree, the managing director, who went over the itinerary with us and answered our questions.
The trek itself was incredible. We went with the 6-day trek through Annapurna Base Camp. Despite our beginner-to-intermediate trekking ability, we were well taken care of and didn't feel pressured to walk at a pace we were uncomfortable with.
Our guide made for fantastic company. He was very knowledgeable about the mountains and very helpful throughout the trek with everything from guidance through tricky terrain to recommending food. Similarly our porter was fantastic; very polite and made for good company. Overall we had an amazing experience with Trekking Team Group and would recommend it to anyone considering a trek.

Additional Information

This is ADVENTURE travel, and many of the trip destinations in this site are remote areas, within under developed countries, where events are less predictable than is usually the case in. The unexpected is the norm in these areas and, despite painstaking planning and organization, our adventure trips can never be taken for granted like regular trips. Many of the places that we visit do not have the same quality of emergency health and safety services that you are used to in the developed world. Internal flights can be canceled, road transport is generally uncomfortable and unreliable, and hotels often do not approach the standards of the West.

IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR THIS, YOU SHOULD NOT TRAVEL WITH US. This unpredictability also means that the itineraries that we put forward for each of our trips should be seen as statements of intent, rather than as contractual obligations. A variety of factors, including weather, transport difficulties and political instability, might dictate that we change any itinerary. The trip leader will make any changes that are necessary, after consultation with the group. Only rarely will such changes be significant, and we will always do everything within our powers to minimize the effects of the enforced changes. We cannot be held responsible for the results of changes or delays, irrespective of how they are caused.
