The Code, short for “The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism,” is an industry-driven responsible tourism initiative. Its mission is to raise awareness, provide tools, and offer support to the tourism industry to prevent the sexual exploitation of children. At Trekking Team Group, we actively support and play an invaluable role in this project, contributing to our shared vision of a world where children are safe and free.

“Annually, globally, 2.7 million tons of plastic from water bottles are used. Trekking Team Group is committed to educating travelers and supporting the TAP mission. The TAP campaign seeks to inform global travelers about the detrimental effects of plastic water bottle usage and encourages them to be equipped to treat their own drinking water. As a responsible tour and trek operator, we strongly oppose the use of plastic bottles. Therefore, we provide our trekkers with Liberty sustainable, recyclable bottles and offer them purified water through SteriPEN.”

Travelife is an initiative encompassing training, management, and certification for tourism companies dedicated to achieving sustainability. Trekking Team Group proudly holds Travelife certification, signifying its commitment to sustainability. With the implementation of a closer water source, not only has their physical burden lessened, but also valuable time has been reclaimed, fostering improved productivity and a more sustainable community.

Ensuring that every student in the village has access to a proper education. By supplying school uniforms and bags to those whose parents are unable to afford these essential items. By doing so, we aim to remove financial barriers that may hinder children from attending school and create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.

Previously, students had to resort to using bushes for sanitation, which was detrimental to the environment and unhygienic. Fortunately, positive changes have occurred with the implementation of new toilets. Introducing better cooking stoves has eased the burden on women who previously spent excessive time in smoky kitchens, facing breathing difficulties and risking lung problems like asthma. Additionally, the previous risk of fires on windy days resulting in burn injuries for children has been successfully eliminated, resolving these challenges.

Introducing hot lunch programs for underprivileged students in village schools has made a significant impact, especially for those facing food scarcity at home. This initiative not only addresses the nutritional needs of these children but also ensures that they receive a wholesome meal during school hours, fostering a conducive environment for learning and supporting their overall well-being.

Conducting a dental camp proved instrumental in addressing dental issues

Conducting a dental camp proved instrumental in addressing dental issues among students who lacked proper brushing knowledge and timing. Many experienced dental problems due to excessive sweets consumption. Our awareness campaign, coupled with lessons on proper brushing techniques and schedules, not only significantly improved their dental health but also empowered them to educate their parents.
