The reviews from these individuals of Trekking Team Group are just a glimpse of the countless satisfied customers we’ve served over our 30 years of organizing trips in the Himalayas, spanning Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan.

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek
I would highly recommend trekking with the Team Trekking Group – our guides Birman and Bimal were outstanding: really friendly with great local knowledge of the area and great at aiding me in with my asthma in the times I began to struggle. The tea houses we stayed in along the way were of high quality and the food we were given delicious; it was nice that this was paid for in advance so there was nothing to worry about on the trip itself. The trek was also ensured as physically manageable and sustainable as possible through the use of a Steripen to purify water meaning the need for only one water bottle to be carried. Really enjoyed the experience.

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek
Would definitely recommend!
I recently took part in the Poon Hill trek with a group of other students. The guides Bir and Bim were great company and looked after us all so well. For the entire length of the trek we did not have to worry about food or accommodation as they had it sorted. They were always on hand to answer questions and have vast amounts of knowledge about the area so it was also an opportunity to learn lots too. Overall, a fantastic experience on a trek with some amazing views. Thank you Trekking team group.

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek
Poon Hill trek
Our group did the Poon Hill trek with Bim and Bir as our guides. Had an amazing couple of days and really loved both the trek and the enthusiasm of the guides. The trek ran very smoothly with all the accommodation and meals booked in advance so there was no waiting around or confusion about anything which was great. We were encouraged not to buy water to avoid the use of single-use plastic, but instead fill our water bottles from local sources and have the water purified using a UV Steripen. This proved a cost-effective, environmentally friendly and safe way to access water on the trek. The route was great and we were rewarded with some amazing views of the Himalayas from the top of Poon Hill at sunrise. The guides themselves also made the trek a lot of fun, joining in on games and pointing out interesting aspects of the landscape/environment that we wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. Overall we had an incredible time and would definitely book through Trekking Team Group again if I’m lucky enough to revisit Nepal.

School Travel Ghorepani And Poon Hill Trek
Friendly, eco-friendly and so much more!
My group and I trekked up Poon Hill with our guides Bir and Bim. I loved this trek – it was a fun challenge which we were more than rewarded for with stunning views of some of the tallest and most beautiful mountains in the world – Dhaulagiri, Annapurnas, Fishtail…. Both guides were both fantastic for the following reasons. First, there was a high degree of professionalism. They knew the route well and all the hotels were booked beforehand. Everything ran perfectly smoothly and there were no organizational issues. Secondly, Bir and Bim are both really friendly guys. Both speak excellent English and I had lengthy conversations with both, which I enjoyed very much. They also joined in with card games our group was playing and showed us a couple of their own. Thirdly, Bir and Bim were always supportive of anyone falling behind in the group. One of them would always hang back with that person to ensure they did not get lost, which I personally appreciated. Finally, Bir and Bim (and Trekking Team Group generally) were highly eco-friendly in their approach to trekking. They encouraged us not to use plastic bottles and to instead use our own drinking bottles. To help us with this, Bir carried a UV light water filter which he used regularly to clean water in our bottles whenever we refilled them. It filtered the water very effectively and proved indispensable throughout the trek. I am grateful that he had it. Overall, I loved my experience trekking with Trekking Team Group. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Upper Mustang Trek
Great Guide and Support Team
We decided to choose a local company on our second visit to Nepal. We were impressed with the social responsibility that this company demonstrates by not using bottled water and also their charity work providing meals in schools, providing dental care and clean drinking water. Our initial plan was to trek to Upper Mustang but unfortunately the amount of snow in late February prevented us from completing our initial plan. Shreehari and our guide, Hari came up with an alternative trekking plan which was still challenging but would give us the opportunity to see at least some of the Mustang area. They were also very honest about the reduction in costs that resulted from the different itinerary and provided a full refund for the difference. Our guide, Hari was very good at finding tea houses which had an ensuite bathroom. Out of all the places we stayed only one teahouse had shared toilet facilities. He made sure that we had enough water to drink and it was clear that safety of his clients was his top priority. The porters (Bikash & Sange) did an excellent job and we felt part of a family as we trekked out of Jomson and back in to Pokhara. I would highly recommend this local company and would definitely travel with them again on our next visit to Nepal.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek
ABC Trek
Our guide, Hari, and porter Omesh, were very good at taking care of our needs on our 11 day trek. They were very organized and pleasant to be with.We appreciated the use of the SteriPen to sterilize our drinking water – no plastic water bottles! We also appreciated Mr Shreehari’s interest in a follow up meeting to hear about our experience on the trek. We would recommend this company.

Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest Base Camp – Awesome Adventure with Brilliant Birman!
Trekking Team Group are a fantastic local trekking company if you’re planning a holiday or trek in Nepal and, simply put, Birman Tamang is the best trekking guide this side of Everest. We booked a 20 day trek to Everest Base Camp during April 2019 through Inspiring Vacations. The overall package was initially compiled and coordinated by Inspiring Vacations (including flights, itinerary, etc), though once we hit the ground in Kathmandu it was Shreehari and his team at Trekking Team Group that managed the logistics of our trek, accommodation, meals, transport, etc. Shreehari and his team were always friendly and professional, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable, informed and happy. It was comforting to know we were in the hands of a local trekking company who not only had many years of experience, but who also provided support to local communities and schools through various initiatives. We only had a small group (3 people), which was great.Birman Tamang was our guide for the trek, and I can’t imagine having a better guide. Birman picked us up from Kathmandu airport (welcoming us with genuine enthusiasm) and stayed with us through to our return to the airport 20 days later. He has a great wealth of knowledge about not only trekking in the Himalayas but also Nepal, it’s history, religion, culture, food and people. Birman’s positivity and enthusiasm were seemingly endless and highly infectious. He’s very patient and quite observant, so we always felt at ease along the trek and never rushed. He’s also really flexibile and seems to have contacts in most of the lodges and tea houses along the trek, so it often felt like we got preferential treatment over other trekkers. More than once, I spied Birman picking up rubbish along the trails and putting it in the nearest bin.Our two porters Doulashin and Sunkumar were fantastic, always waiting for us with a smile at the end of the day’s trek. There’s no way we could have made it up and back without them. Our package included some local sightseeing in Kathmandu before our trek to Everest. In addition, we had a few days once we’d returned from the mountain to relax and explore the local Balthali village and Bhaktapur areas. While we were somewhat exhausted from our journey up and down the mountain, this was a nice way to unwind after our long trek, and a welcome change to the dust and frantic activity of central Kathmandu. I highly recommend TTG and Birman as your local trekking team and guide if you’re planning a visit to Nepal. They’re awesome.

Annapurna Circuit Trek
Great local agency with good No Plastic Bottle policy
We did a modified 14-day Annapurna circuit in April 2019. The modified itenerary had been proposed by the agency and it was a great alternative to the usual one with condensed great walks and views. Our guide and porter were really nice and always making sure we were ok. They always tried to find us a room with attached toilet, which was nice. One of the reason we went with this company was the no plastic bottle policy. They did sterilized our water (steripen or boiling) every time we asked and we did not have any stomach issue, so we were really happy with that. One of our other concerns about trekking was how the porter and guide are treated : both our guide and porter seemed to be treated ok. The guide had good gears. The porter gears were ok: not the best ones but far from the worst ones we saw. The guide was knowledgeable when asked questions. Most of the trek went smoothly. Our guide was planning things ahead (and thus spending quite a lot of time on his phone). Once we had to wait quite a while for our transportation to pick us up, but it happened only once in the 14 days and I guess it is normal in Nepal on busy days. The communication with Shreehari before and after the trek was great. I sent him my comments when I came back from holidays and he was happy to take notes of my recommendations. Overall we are really happy with our experience. I would most definitely recommend the modified Annapurna circuit.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Trekking around Anapurna
My son and I have trekked with Bir ( guide) and Sansha ( porter). They were an excellent team and very supportive. We are strongly recommending on trekking team group if you want to enjoy your trip.

Mardi Himal Trekking
Best Agency Ever
I would warmly advise you to book with Trekking Team Group if you are visiting Nepal! I booked a Mardi Himal trek with them and a one-day guided tour in Kathmandu and they were both amazing and perfectly planned. Trekking was absolutely stunning! Our guide (Suk) was funny, extremely prepared and knowledgeable. Plus nobody had any issues with AMS. Book with them if you want an unforgettable Nepalese experience! I am already planning to come back and will book with them if I need it!

Mardi Himal Trekking
Very great experience !
I strongly recommend the Trekking Team Group. I did the Mardi Himal trek with Suk who is a super guide, very professional, caring so much for us (in particular to prevent from the AMS), with humour. The organization of the trek was perfect. Shree, the contact in the agency was very professional too, and is listening to the customers and makes sure everything is fine for us. I really advise this agency.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek
A very nice and professional group of people!
We had a very good experience with this company. Mr Shreehari was ever alert and always had a solution if you cannot make the first option. Tikka was the perfect guide, and a very nice person. I absolutely recommend this company to make your trek successful in Nepal. They make your dream turn into reality. Thanks for all!

Annapurna and Tilicho Lake Trek
Great trip!
Our guide Sandeep was fantastic! He was really supportive and encouraging, through the unexpected amount of snow! Thanks Sandeep & Trekking Team Group family!

Annapurna Circuit Trek
We came across trekking team group via a friend who had trekked with them the year before on the Annapurna Circuit. Taking her recommendation was great as it meant that we got to work with Shreehari in planning our trek and then with the amazing Hari who guided us to Annapurna Base Camp (and back). In planning the trek, Shreehari was incredibly helpful and accommodating working around our schedules to plan a private trek (a couple) with a guide and a porter. Shree even met us at the airport and joined us for dinner on our first evening when we arrived in Kathmandu which we hadn’t expected and was a lovely touch. The first few days sightseeing in Kathmandu were well planned which helped us to get an insight into the culture and history before heading into the mountains. We met Hari (our guide) and his brother Ishwor (our porter) and drove to Pokhara and the day after we headed into the mountains. The trek was incredibly well planned by Hari. Knowing that he’d picked good accommodation (the quality of the beds was always the same but the number of private rooms and the quality of the cooking in each lodge varied massively) and locations for lunch stops that were appropriately spaced along the trek meant we knew we’d always be well rested for the next section of our journey. He was incredibly attentive and helpful when we had issues such as one day when I twisted my ankle which required a slow down in the pace. We joked that along the ABC route you were never more than 45 minutes away from your next cup of tea which Hari and Ishwor made sure we were full of along the way. We met a lot of people doing ABC unguided who were suffering with altitude sickness after having pushed too high up in one day or who were having trouble finding lodging for the night on the busy route. This was never a problem for us as Hari was making sure everything was booked in advance and would make us stop even if we thought we could keep going. I would strongly recommend using Trekking Team Group to plan and guide your trek. The only effort we had to put in was in making sure we were fit enough to make the journey! We’ll return to the Himalayas and we’ll definitely work with Trekking Team Group again.

Nar Phu and Tilicho Lake trek
Fantastic 23 days Trek – Annapurna Circuit and Nar Phu Valley
We did a 23 days hike with Trekking Team Group in October 2018. We were 100% satisfied with the overall experience of the trek. Everything was neatly organized. Communication beforehand was very quick efficient and in a timely manner. Upon arrival in Kathmandu we were carefully taken care of every single day. First by the agency (sightseeing/ evening dinner in Kathmandu) and later by our fantastic, very knowledgeable and experienced guide and porter. We booked a group trek but since no other people signed up for the same itinerary the trek was carried out as private trek without additional cost. I am glad to have chosen TTG as operator and would recommend undoubtedly to everyone that plans to go trekking in Nepal.

Annapurna Circuit by Bike
First, mountain biking the Annapurna Circuit was an adventure of a lifetime, and I would recommend Trekking Team to anyone that I would recommend this trip. However, I would recommend trekking/MTBing the Annapurna Circuit to very few people that I know. You must be in very good physical condition and be willing to admit you’re not in good enough physical condition. You must be willing to overlook the dirt (dust, trash and sometimes disgusting bathrooms) to enjoy the beauty. You must be willing to explore the local cuisine to fully enjoy the adventure. You must be willing to accept the available lodging that is never much better than a nice hostel and can be not much better than a roughly built shack. You must be willing to deal with cold.If you can get over those hurdles, the adventure is worth it. Shreehari was responsive and helpful in the time leading up to the trip, and the trip itself was well organised. Trekking Team Group met us at the airport and handled all logistics related to lodging, transportation, and scheduling (providing either a guide or free time in Kathmandu as we choose) until we were back in the airport. The handoff to our MTBing guide was well coordinated. The guide and porter were excellent and made sure we were taken care of at every step of the ride. The guide had been on over 50 trips to the Annapurna Region and seemed to know every local we met on the trip.

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek
Went on the 4 day poon hill trek with a small group. The trek was absolutely breathtaking, with Bir and Sancha being the most caring guides I could have asked for! Cannot wait to return to Nepal and trek with them again, would recommend to all.

Best of Nepal Tour
Wow, where to begin?!! From the moment of being met with at airport by Shree and our driver Kim, we knew we were in great hands. The experiences we had were something I’ll treasure for the rest of my life. Shree was an absolute gent at all times, always ready to have fun, very knowledgeable and above all, flexible. Our driver Kim was also immense, quite probably the most patient driver in the world, very articulate and knowledgeable himself. We visited temples, palaces, went trekking for 3 days in the foothills beneath Anapurna, went for safari in Chitwan National Park, lived like a local for 3 days, danced, prepared supper, went fishing watched by elephants (!), ate in some amazing restaurants and stayed in a mix of hotels and bed and breakfast establishments and lots more. Our schedule was packed, we came away absolutely blown away by the country and the people. Shree and the team absolutely aced it for us and I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you my friend.

Gokyo Lake Trek
I booked with TTG a trek to the Gokyo lakes, returning via Renjo La. The package had me in their care from landing to take off in Kathmandu. I’m a returning client, following a booking for the whole family to Mustang + surround Annapurna trek. As in the past, I was very satisfied with the care and personal attention of Shreehari, the company’s director, and with the professional level of Birman, the guide. The company is dedicated to provide value to the client, while promoting safe and responsible trekking, as well as connecting you with Nepali heritage and traditions. I will certainly make my next booking in Nepal with TTG.
