After a fair bit of searching and having a tough time picking the right company for our trek, we hit the jackpot with a recommendation for Trekking Team Group from a mate at the office who had trekked with them a few years back. With that kind of endorsement, we didn’t hesitate and booked the trip with them.

Even though this was our first Himalayan trek, we wanted something a bit off the beaten track, so we opted for the Makalu Base Camp trek. We were torn between two treks in Eastern Nepal: Makalu vs. Kanchenjunga, but Makalu won out in the end. We went in autumn based on Shree’s advice, who promised us October would offer the best visibility, lush greenery, and great weather. He was spot on—throughout the trek, we didn’t see a drop of rain. The days were sunny with clear blue skies and the perfect temperature—neither too hot nor too cold. We saw rice harvesting in action, celebrated the Dashain festival with the locals, and enjoyed every moment of our trek.

The whole crew was fantastic and hardworking. Our guide, Ram, was super friendly and knowledgeable, and we’ve made lifelong friends. We can’t recommend these guys highly enough for their exceptional service. Cheers and see you next time!
