Situated between Langtang and Manaslu, in the very heart of Nepal, the Ruby Valley Trek is an excellent option for those seeking a balance between natural grandeur, cultural prosperity, and adventure serenity. Amongst other treks available, this route is not very populated or developed; hence, it ensures an original and special experience for all who want to surround themselves with the calmness of Nepalese landscapes and local color unspoiled by mass tourism.

Why Choose the Ruby Valley Trek?

For those hikers who wish to evade busier trails and investigate virgin territory, the Ruby Valley Trek is the perfect option. A trek that was named after the gemstones that were once found in this region, Ruby Valley will present to you all its biodiversity, all its mountain views, and all the hospitality of its people. Here one can get involved with nature and rural life, taking away reminiscences of many smiles for a lifetime.

Getting to Ruby Valley

Starting Point

The trek usually starts from Syabrubesi or Dhading Besi, which are connected with Kathmandu by road. It’s a long drive but interesting as the country road unravels the typical rural Nepal with terraced fields, rivers, local villages, and views of snow-capped mountains.

Travel Logistics

From Kathmandu, a private vehicle will take you to Syabrubesi in about 5 hours or to Dhading Besi in around 3 hours. The drives are both picturesque, and the roads may be rough which only adds to the adventure.

The Trekking Experience

Scenic Beauty and Natural Diversity

One of the main attractions of the Ruby Valley Trek is its stunning natural beauty. One of the major pull factors for trekkers to the region is its natural splendor— from terrace fields and lush green forests to alpine pastures and glaciated high mountain passes along the way. Trekkers enjoy 360-degree views of the Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Manaslu massifs; every new angle is more impressive than the last.

The region is also biologically blessed. It goes through the forests of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo that are home to some rare wildlife like red pandas, langur monkeys, and many bird species. Trekking in Ruby Valley is always accompanied by a rich display of ever-changing flora and fauna, which acts as a catalyst in enhancing the entire trekking spirit.

Cultural Diversity and Local Life

The Ruby Valley Trek is both a cultural expedition and a natural journey. The valley is home to different communities including Tamang, Gurung, as well as Ghale ethnicities. Every village on the trail has its own set of customs, traditions and festivals that give trekkers an insight into the day-to-day lives and vibrant cultures of the local people.

Staying in traditional teahouses or homestays means more interaction with local families. Nepal’s traditional hospitality can be enjoyed while learning about local customs as well as relishing in authentic home-made meals. These cultural exchanges are frequently trek highlights that leave one with an intense gratitude for the region’s rich heritage.

Challenges And Rewards

The Ruby Valley Trek is a moderately strenuous trek suitable for trekkers who have a decent level of fitness. The trails are often steep and rugged but they offer nice views at certain points. This trek provides a sense of accomplishment from conquering high passes, serenity felt in far off villages and countless amazing sceneries thus making it worthwhile.

Such events provide insight into the local way of life through vibrant dances, music and rituals. Participating in a local festival can be a memorable highlight of the trek.

Remote Trails

This makes visitors fewer and peace more acquirable during their trip to this place. With deserted trails, hikers have an opportunity to savor nature intimately as they feel isolated from other people on busy paths.

Additional Information

This is ADVENTURE travel, and many of the destinations on this site are in remote, underdeveloped areas where unpredictability is the norm. Despite careful planning and organization, our adventure trips can’t be taken for granted like regular trips. Many of the places we visit lack the emergency health and safety services you’re used to in the developed world. Internal flights can be canceled, road transport is often uncomfortable and unreliable, and hotel standards may not match those of the West.

If you’re not prepared for this, you shouldn’t travel with us. The unpredictability also means that our itineraries are statements of intent, not contractual obligations. Factors such as weather, transport difficulties, and political instability might require us to change any itinerary. The trip leader will make any necessary changes after consulting with the group. Such changes are rarely significant, and we always do our best to minimize their impact. However, we cannot be held responsible for changes or delays, regardless of their cause.

Sponsorship

One of the major activities of Ambe foundation is the children sponsorship program, which is conducted with full collaboration with Trekking Team Group.

Partnership (Volunteering Program)
