The treks of Great Himalaya Trail stands as one of the most extensive and elevated hiking routes globally. This epic journey meanders beneath the towering peaks of the world’s highest mountains, delving into some of the planet’s most isolated communities. Along the way, it unveils a tapestry of landscapes—lush green valleys, barren high plateaus, and awe-inspiring vistas.

Spanning the entire length of the Nepalese Himalayas, the trail stretches from Taplejung in the east to Humla and Darchula in the west. It then continues on, threading through Tibet, India, and Myanmar to the east of Nepal, and Tibet, India, and Pakistan to the west.

Nepal’s portion of the GHT is segmented into ten interconnected treks, each typically lasting 2-3 weeks. These treks can be tackled sequentially or independently. Moreover, every GHT section boasts a variety of side treks with different durations and levels of difficulty. Some of these side treks require camping gear, while others can be completed by staying in teahouses along the route.

With a myriad of trekking options and emerging tourist attractions, each segment of the GHT offers a unique trekking and adventure experience in its own right—a destination within a destination.
